A little about me

I am currently studying for my Master of Counselling with Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

I was born and raised in London and spent around a decade in the UK working as a journalist. In early 2021, I moved to Hong Kong, where I spent some time in the corporate world. I moved to Shanghai in 2023 and not long after that made the transition into counselling.

  • Counselling can assist with many problems, whether you consider them big or small. These can include depression, anxiety, “culture shock”, relationships, life changes, problems at work, and grief and loss.

I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, and offer trauma-informed care.

  • I practise with a “person-centred” approach, which means I put great importance on the helping power of the therapeutic relationship my clients and I build.

It means I will approach you without judgement, and with empathy, compassion, respect and understanding.

I have an interest in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and narrative approaches.

We will work together and discuss an approach that feels right for you.

  • Once qualified, I will be eligible for membership of both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Association of Australia (PACFA).

I am currently a student member of the Shanghai International Mental Health Association (SIMHA), and abide by its code of ethics.

  • Mindspring is a registered and licensed mental health hospital supporting clients with psychiatry, psychology, and psychotherapy including psychopharmacology.

Mindspring runs a Counsellor Training and Internship Programme, of which I am part. The programme, started in 2025, aims to ensure Shanghai trains high-quality counsellors while also expanding affordable mental health access to the international community.
